Who will win the Ballon d'Or in 2023?

Every year, football fans all over the globe eagerly await the announcement of the winner of the Ballon d’Or award. The winner of this prestigious award is the player who is thought to be the best in the world, and people are already talking a lot about who will get it in 2023. Even though Lionel Messi seems to be the most likely candidate, there are a few other players who could give him trouble.

We had a lot of fun speculating about the upcoming Ballon d’Or here on the GSB Africa blog. Who do you think will be able to take home the trophy in the end? There are a lot of players to keep an eye on, but the ones from PSG and Manchester City are a good place to start.

Winner Ballon d’Or 2023: The Hypotheses on the Favorites

Fans are always amazed by Lionel Messi’s play, which shouldn’t be a surprise since he is widely considered to be one of the best football players of all time. At the 2022 World Cup, the Argentine national hero was a key part of his team’s success. He scored goals that won each game for Argentina. His performance in the competition was nothing short of amazing, and it proved that he is one of the best ever. Neymar, who plays for Paris Saint-Germain alongside Messi, is another talent to keep an eye on in 2023. Neymar’s skills can’t be questioned because he has always done well for both his team and his country. If he wants to be considered for the Ballon d’Or, he will have to perform better than his other two colleagues. It remains to be seen whether he is able to do so, but if there is anyone who is able to rise to the challenge, it is Neymar.

In 2023, the winner of the Ballon d’Or will be determined based on a combination of how well each player does individually as well, as how well his or her squad does overall. Even though Messi is the prohibitive favorite, Mbappé, Haaland, and Neymar all have a chance at pulling off a surprise. Crystal palace have not won a single game from their last 10 outings in all competitions and here comes City fighting hard to cling their gap with log leaders Arsenal. I do see a proper thumping of the home team by City since they can’t afford to lose any point currently.

6.Brest Vs PSG (2) Saturday

PSG lead the log with 63 points and they look forward to claiming the championship this season. Brest have lost all their last 5 H2H meetings with PSG and I do not see them escaping this time. I do not give them even a point in this fixture.

7.Napoli Vs Atalanta (1) Saturday

Currently leading the log with a big margin, Napoli lost their last game to Lazio which really saw them struggle to create chances seeing the game end 1:0

I do see Napoli trying to revive their winning form since they are playing at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

8.Rea Madrid Vs Espanyol (1) Saturday

Currently 2nd placed, Real Madrid lost 2 points to Betis the game ended in a draw which saw them lose their chase to Barcelona. Define the term Napoli? Napoli is a team that is currently untouchable in Italy. Who really doesn’t know this? Napoli lead the log and here comes 4th placed Lazio who have a poor record against the host and have also lost all their last 4 H2H meetings with Napoli and all the last 5 H2H have seen 1.5 over. We are giving Napoli to win till further notice

3.Manchester City Vs Newcastle (1) Saturday

Liverpool is the only side to defeat the Magpies this season in EPL and here comes City who trail Arsenal by 5 points. I do see City defeating Newcastle since they are home and the latter have lost their high flowing form in the past weeks. City have won 7/10 last H2H this seeing Newcastle win 1/10 witnessed in 2019

Due to this, I do see Barcelona at Camp Nou thumping struggling Valencia with a minimum of 2 win margin so as to boost their confidence and chase for the title

Real Madrid are currently 2nd placed and here comes 5th placed Betis as the race for La Liga Santander continues. Real Madrid drew in the Madrid derby last weekend and here comes an opportunity for them to cling their gap with log leaders Barcelona. It is the Madrid derby as 2nd placed Real Madrid host 4th placed Atletico at the Santiago Bernabeu. I do expect a tight on but I do see the hosts edging Atletico however the guests will atleast score a goal. This means those going for O2.5 you are very safe. Bagenda kwelumba

Bilbao scores goals but I do not see them scoring more than 1 against a defensive Madrid side who very well know that even a point in this fixture keeps their top 4 hopes alive

Both sides never acquired maximum points on their 1st outing after the World Cup break as West Ham lost to Arsenal and Brentford drew with Tottenham. I do anticipate an end to end game as both have a direct approach to most of games they have played this season. I do see both scoring at least a goal

2.Liverpool Vs Leicester (1) Friday

After losing to Newcastle at King power stadium, I do not see Leicester stopping Liverpool at Anfield as they eye to enter the top 4. Liverpool may not be at the best but Leicester is apparently way worse than they used to be.

3.Celta Vigo Vs Sevilla (O1.5) Friday

La Liga returns today after the World cup break and we see two sides struggling to overcome relegation meet in a big clash today. Currently 18th placed Sevilla same as 17th placed Celta will both try to score in this game to attain all the 3 points.

4.Valladolid Vs Real Madrid (2) Friday

After leading the log for a long while, Real Madrid are currently 2nd placed trailing Barcelona with 2 points. Madrid have won 4/5 of their last H2H with Valladolid

5.Wolves Vs Manchester United (Yes) Saturday

Wolves returned to league action with a last gasp winner against Everton at Goodison park and here comes United who comfortably defeated Nottingham Forest with a 3 goal margin. Both teams will surely score a goal

6.Manchester City Vs Everton (1&O2.5)

After losing to Wolves at home, I do not see Everton stopping Man City who really want to cling their gap heir gap with Arsenal. I do also see a minimum of 3 goals ¾ lst league H2H have seen O2.5

We may talk about the famous top 4, but Brighton is the biggest test to Arsenal at this stage if they are to continue pushing their title charge. One of the most stubborn teams in the league with proper game to game approach, the Gunners have to real fight hard to attain 3 points from a well organized Brighton. However, I do see Arsenal coming out of this fixture as victors following their proper game build up and a lot of chances created per game. A two or one goal margin win for Arsenal

 8.Barcelona Vs Espanyol (1) Saturday

Barcelona return to action today as the league returns. I do see them winning this encounter to retain their league top spot. Quality, facilty and game approach Barcelona is way better than espanyol and I do not see them stopping them. Barcelona have won 3/5 last H2H meetings with espanyol

9.Nottingham Vs Chelsea (2) Sunday

At the City Ground Nottingha host the Blues as the league continues. Chelsea has won 5/5 of their last H2H with Nottingham and I do see them winning this game following their win against Bournemouth

10.PSG Vs Lens (Yes) Sunday

1st and 2nd placed sides in Ligue 1 meet today as the race to this seasons silverware continues. PSG leading the log have conceded in 4/5 of their last H2H with lens. Also Lens have conceded 8 times from their last 5 H2H meetings. Both teams to score is a very safe bet in this fixture.

Villarreal have lost their last 2 games against very average sides which clearly shows their diminishing form.
