What is Gerard Pique’s new football league, the Kings League

What is Gerard Pique’s new football league, the Kings League?

Fast, dynamic football, very similar to a video game, which can appeal to young people—this is the goal that Gerard Piqué set himself when he decided to found the Kings League. This tournament, which is held in Spain, is already very famous on social media and has generated, as often happens, both appreciation and criticism.

But what exactly is the Kings League, and how does it work? Let’s find out by taking a look at his creative rules and the rosters of the teams participating in this competition, where it is also possible to find a mysterious footballer.

How the Kings League works: The rules

First, what is the Kings League? It is a 7-a-side football championship that has been held every Sunday since January 2023. The main rules are those of the most popular sport in the world, to which, however, are added those of other disciplines. For example, the kick-off is very similar to that of water polo: the ball is in the center, and the two teams run towards the ball from the baseline in search of first possession.

Any other special rules? In the event of a tie, there are no classic penalty kicks but shootouts (famous in the MLS of the 1990s); the Var is on call; the substitutions are unlimited; and then there is the mechanic that most of all dictates the matches: the wild cards. Five can be drawn, including one before the match. The latter can give teams special bonuses, such as the possibility of making the next goal count for double, expelling an opposing player for a few minutes, or obtaining a free penalty.

There are twelve participating teams, and they too must comply with some particular rules. They are made up of a total of twelve players: ten of these are people who have openly registered for the tournament and were then selected through a draft that has been very popular online on Twitch; the other two are professional players or former footballers. Among them are well-known names such as Chicharito Hernandez, Sergio Garcia, Jonathan Soriano, and Joan Capdevila. Among them, however, is also a mysterious footballer named Enigma.

Who is Enigma, the Kings League mystery footballer?

Enigma is a footballer who participates in the Kings League, but the peculiarity is that he does so by hiding his identity. He takes to the field with a wrestler’s mask covering his face, gloves, and long sleeves that can cover his revealing tattoos. Naturally, many theories have already begun to circulate about him. There are those who even think that he may be a professional footballer who, violating his contract with his club, participates in this crazy tournament in secret. One name above all that circulated on social media was that of Denis Suarez, a Villarreal midfielder, but he himself wanted to deny these rumors so as not to risk ending up in a whirlwind of controversy.

So who could this Enigma wearing the number 69 shirt be? Due to his not too imposing physique, many have even thought of Isco or Hazard, with the Spaniard currently free and looking for a team. But what convinces Kings League fans the most is the theory born from an image that may have betrayed the identity of the mysterious footballer. Through some photographs taken of the masked player, a tattoo on his neck was glimpsed that closely resembles that of Nano Mesa, a twenty-seven-year-old forward from Cadiz. At this point, we just have to wait and hope that sooner or later his identity will be revealed, as happened with Rey Mysterio in the WWE.

Piqué’s Kings League is a success.

Piqué’s Kings League took very little time to be talked about. First of all because of its particular format, which, as mentioned, is very reminiscent of a video game. The frenzy of the matches combined with the comments of the most famous Spanish streamers and influencers is a perfect combination to attract a young audience. To all this, however, we must also add the presence of some very famous ex-footballers. First of all, of course, the name of the founder must be mentioned: the former Barcelona player is always very present, especially in the post-match. But there are also off-field appearances by other big names like Sergio Agüero (president of a club) and Iker Casillas.

The success of the Kings League has also reached the upper echelons of Spanish football, which wasted no time in commenting on this new sports format in a somewhat different way. LaLiga president Javier Tebas commented on the tournament, calling it a circus: “It’s not about attracting a young audience or not; all of this is wrong.” And Gerard Piqué’s response obviously didn’t take long to arrive on Twitter: “Welcome to the circus,” while his tournament continues to have a great resonance, bringing with it a lot of hype and the goal of becoming a real alternative to football. Perhaps the Kings League is the real Super League that many have been waiting for.

Top Football Clubs with the Most Fans in the World

Top Football Clubs with the Most Fans in the World

After analyzing the longest-serving managers in football history, we expand the circle to see which teams are the most popular around the world. Taking many things into account, a list of the top ten in the classification has been made.

At the top, we find Manchester United; together with the Red Devils, there are five other English teams. The Italians, like the Spaniards, have four teams. Europe is also well represented by the French and German teams. Here is the list of the top ten clubs with the most fans around the world.

The ranking of the most supported teams in the world

  1. Manchester United: 650 million fans
  2. Barcelona: 450 million fans
  3. Real Madrid: 350 million fans
  4. Chelsea: 145 million fans
  5. Arsenal: 125 million fans
  6. Manchester City: 110 million fans
  7. Liverpool: 100 million fans
  8. Milan: 95 million fans
  9. Inter: 55 million fans
  10. Bayern Munich: 45 million fans
  1. Manchester United

So let’s start with the Red Devils, the historic English team that has been struggling a bit in recent years but who have won a lot in the course of their history, especially with Sir Alex Ferguson on the bench. One of the most interesting aspects of this fan base is that it supposedly doubled in size from 2007 to 2012, the period in which CR7 arrived and the Champions League and Club World Cup were won. With over 650 million supporters worldwide, it is the most popular team in the world.

  1. Barcelona

From an English big to a Spanish big: second position for Barcelona and its 450 million fans. The Blaugrana are still in the top spots and are recognized as one of the strongest teams in the world. Having someone like Leo Messi in your ranks, considered one of the strongest strikers ever, and certainly helped a lot. Today, this giant club in the history of football is in great difficulty in terms of finances and results achieved, but the huge share of supporters it has will be able to continue to help it in the years to come.

  1. Real Madrid

Real Madrid completes the podium of the world’s most popular teams, having recently won three consecutive Champions League editions (from 2016 to 2018), and will be champions again in the 2021/22 edition, alongside Benzema at the Ballon d’Or. Ancelotti, the coach who led the club out of a brief crisis, is now back on the bench. As a result, Real Madrid has become even more famous around the world, with 350 million fans today.

  1. Chelsea

For Chelsea, there are 145 million fans all over the world. The London club has grown exponentially in the last 15 years thanks to the investments of Roman Abramovich, the president who allowed the Blues to enter the elite of world football. Now Chelsea is focusing a lot on young people and is trying to regain altitude in the Premier League as well. In recent years, he has won the Europa League and the Champions League thanks to Sarri and Tuchel.

  1. Arsenal

Let’s stay in London: 125 million fans for Arsenal, a historic Premier League team fighting to return to the top of the league. The Gunners represent a well-established reality and are very attentive from a “young” perspective. There is no shortage of important investments on the market, and the fans appreciate it.

  1. Manchester City

Chelsea, like City, rose to prominence after huge capital arrived from outside: in 2008, the Abu Dhabi United Group took control of the club and propelled it to the forefront. Today, Manchester City is higher than their rivals, Manchester United: the Citizens, coached by Pep Guardiola, have won the Premier League for two seasons in a row.As for fans, they are at 110 million.

  1. Liverpool

You’re talking about English teams that have been very popular lately, and you’re also talking about Liverpool: the Reds under Klopp have started a winning cycle and remain one of the most formidable opponents in both the Premier League and the Champions League. Liverpool is seventh in the rankings of the most popular teams in the world, with 100 million fans.

  1. Milan

The 95 million AC Milan fans all over the world have also returned to cheer. The Rossoneri have always been popular, but recently even more so: thanks to Stefano Pioli and Rafael Leao, they are back in the spotlight after a long absence, celebrating a heartfelt Scudetto. The Rossoneri are the Italian club with the most fans in the world.

  1. Inter

Inter came right after Milan, and the team kept winning titles even after Conte and then Inzaghi joined. Now the 55 million fans around the world will want to go back to celebrating a scudetto after the Rossoneri rivals unstitched it from their chest last season. And then, a little thought about the Champions League is always given…

  1. Bayern Munich

From Italy to Germany: Bayern Munich has 45 million supporters. While the team of Neuer and Muller is undeniably the dominant force in the German championship, Munich fans are hoping for another Champions League victory from the Bavarian club.

The weakest teams

The weakest teams that have participated in a World Cup

There are those who go to the World Cup to win, those to keep their country’s flag flying, and also those… not to make a bad impression. Yes, because qualifying for the final phase of the World Cup is always an honor, but for the less competitive national teams, there is also the fear of going home covered in criticism.

It is uncommon because most fans are well aware that they have already purchased a ticket to the competition. But despite this, you always try to come out of the tournament with your head held high.

  • PANAMA 2018
  • SAUDI ARABIA 2002
  • GREECE 1994
  • NORTH KOREA 2010
  • CHINA 2022

In Qatar 2022, however, there is a particular case: that of the hosts. A nation with a football pedigree that until recently was non-existent and that, thanks to important investments, has made important steps forward (as evidenced by the victory in the Asian Cup in 2019), but which does not seem absolutely able to compete at certain levels.

For Qatar, being a fool in front of the world was unacceptable because twelve years of preparation for the event were also aimed at making a good impression on the pitch as well as in the organization.

However, the Qatari national team joined a list that was not entirely positive: that of the worst selections seen in previous World Cups.

  1. PANAMA 2018

In the 2018 edition, the worst team was certainly Panama. The Central Americans qualified for their first World Cup following a very successful period that saw them finish third in the 2015 Gold Cup and also participate and impress at the Copa America Centenario.

The arrival in Russia of the Panamanians, who excluded from the demonstration more prominent opponents such as the United States, was of interest. The draw placed Panama in a difficult group with Belgium and England, but also against Tunisia, with whom the Canaleros hoped to make a good impression. It won’t be like that.

In the opening match, Panama held on to Belgium, finishing the first half 0-0 before collapsing in the second half and conceding three goals. It goes much worse against England, who score five goals in 45 minutes and eventually win 6-1.

The last match, the one to avoid the crash, started well with a Tunisian own goal, but in the end the North Africans came from behind to win 2-1. Total for Panama: three defeats, two goals scored, and eleven conceded. It could have been done much better…

  1. SAUDI ARABIA 2002

If we only talk about numbers, the worst performance of the last few decades in a world championship certainly remains that of Saudi Arabia in the 2002 edition.

The team from the Persian Gulf is one of the Asian teams that makes it to the tournament the most often. Unfortunately, they lost all three of their games in Korea and Japan, scoring no goals and giving up as many as 12.

But with a little context, we understand that, although it was a disastrous World Cup, it is not the worst ever. In fact, eight of the twelve goals came in a single match, the first of the group against Germany. The Teutons, as always, did not stop in the face of a clearly inferior opponent and buried the Saudis with goals.

In the second match, the one against Cameroon, a goal from Eto’o was needed for the Africans to bring home the victory. Then, once eliminated, the Saudis also collapsed against Ireland, losing 3-0.

  1. GREECE 1994

The fool at the World Cup is certainly worse if we talk about a slightly more popular selection than the usual ”weak” teams. This is the case of Greece, which, as a European national team, leaves for USA ’94 with less consideration than the other “small,” despite being the Greeks’ first qualification for the World Cup’s final phase.

The draw, however, is not at all positive. The Blue-and-Whites get Argentina and two of the surprises of that World Cup: neighbors Bulgaria and Nigeria. The first match is against Albiceleste, who won 4-0 with a famous Maradona goal and celebration in front of the cameras.

The same thing happened in the derby against the Bulgarians, with Stoichkov and his teammates barely struggling.

There is an opportunity to save face against Nigeria, but with morale down, Greece closes by losing 2-0, thus reaching the non-exciting balance of three defeats in three games with 0 goals scored and 10 conceded. And to think that they also arrived in the United States undefeated, winning the qualifying group ahead of Russia…

  1. NORTH KOREA 2010

But if we look at the quality of play during the event and how well it was prepared for, as well as the results, there are still a few selections that aren’t ready for the world stage.

This is the case of North Korea, which sensationally qualified for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The Asian selection has sparked a lot of interest, both for football reasons and for obvious… geopolitical reasons.

It starts with a bang, because there is the case of Kim Myong-won: the attacker is included in the list as a goalkeeper, to try to get around the rules and bring in an extra outfield player. Consequently, FIFA explains that the player can play, of course, but only in goal.

Even on the pitch, the North Koreans’ rare habit of playing football that matters is noticeable. The desire to do well allows them to even keep up with Brazil for a time, but then the green-and-gold pass and control easily, winning 2-1.

The humiliation comes instead from Portugal, who easily defeated the Asians 7-0, with the goal of CR7 expected by online bettors arriving only in the 87th minute. And also, the last match of the group, the one against the Ivory Coast, ends in a heavy 3-0 defeat.

  1. CHINA 2022

Can it be done worse? Of course, just ask China, which represented itself at the World Cup in South Korea and Japan in 2002. It is not yet the season of the Chinese Super League. The national team, led by a football guru like Bora Milutinovic, arrived at the event almost completely without experience in international football at a certain level.

Of the 23 players called up, only two play away from China, and the star is Ma Mingyu, famous because in 2000 he was brought to Europe by Perugia for one billion liras but played only a few minutes in the Italian Cup.

It’s clear that China wasn’t used to playing on a certain type of stage because in the first game, they lost 2-0 to Costa Rica, which was unstoppable and never gave them any trouble.

The second match, the one against Brazil, turns into a training session for the Selecao, who end the first half 3-0 and don’t attack in the second half, stopping with four goals.

And even the last match, the one with Turkey, didn’t show any jolts from the Chinese, who lost 3-0 and sadly closed their first and so far only experience at the World Cup with three defeats, no goals scored, nine conceded, and very few headaches created for opponents.

The release clause in Cristiano Ronaldo ’s Al Nassr contract

The release clause in Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr contract would allow him to return to the Champions League.

CR7, after leaving Manchester United, chose Al Nassr, where he became the highest-paid player ever. With this choice, apparently, the Portuguese would seem to have abandoned the idea of playing in European football and in a competition like the Champions League. However, Cristiano Ronaldo has a trick up his sleeve: his contract has a special clause that could send him to Newcastle as soon as next year.

Cristiano Ronaldo, the Champions League, and Newcastle: the clause of his contract

Cristiano Ronaldo could play in the Champions League again thanks to a clause included in his pharaonic contract signed with Al Nassr. We’ve already talked in detail about how much CR7 will earn in Saudi Arabia, but now it’s time to get specific by analyzing a particular clause that could lead him to a Premier League team as early as next season: Newcastle. It all started with a revelation in the sports newspaper Marca, which speaks of an agreement between him and his new club that would allow him to play again in the Champions League, the tournament he loves most of all.

However, how could all this be accomplished? It will be enough for the English club to qualify for the Champions League during the current season (2022-2023) to be able to access the group stage in the following one (2023-2024). In that case, the Portuguese player, who has signed a two-and-a-half-season contract with Al Nassr, would be loaned to Newcastle to allow him to play in the competition. All this would be possible because the ownership of the two clubs is the same, i.e., a fund attributable to the Saudi royal family. What are the odds of all of this happening? They are good because the Magpies are having a very good season in the Premier League.

How would Newcastle play with CR7?

Newcastle United, since they changed ownership in October 2021, have turned into one of the most interesting and strongest teams in England, so much so that they are defined as a serious candidate for the title by their opponents. Despite his 38 years, the Magpies would be stronger with Cristiano Ronaldo. But how could Eddie Howe fit Portuguese into his schemes and training? In the meantime, let’s try to understand what the module and owner 11 of the English club are.

Newcastle United usually take the field with a distinctly attacking 4-3-3. The key players in Howe’s line-up are undoubtedly Kevin Trippier (English fullback, ex-Atletico Madrid), Saint-Maximin, Callum Wilson, Svent Botman (long-sought in the past from Milan), and, above all, Miguel Almiron and Bruno Guimaraes.

The Paraguayan is a light attacking midfielder who has played in his home country, Argentina, and the United States. He is currently the Magpies’ top scorer, scoring several goals from his position as a winger. The Brazilian, on the other hand, is the most valuable shot in this new Newcastle. Paid 50 million euros in January 2022, he arrived from Lyon to take over the midfield of his new club. Born in 1997, he plays as both a midfielder and a forward, exploiting his physical strength and ball-and-chain quality. Tite rewarded him by calling him up for the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.

In this context, we imagine Cristiano Ronaldo taking Callum Wilson’s place as central striker. Over the years, the Portuguese have become more and more centralized, and at 38, he would hardly be able to fill the role of winger currently played by Almiron or Saint-Maximin. However, the England international is a tough nut to crack and will be difficult to overcome in the hierarchy of the coaching staff.

Qatar 2022’s best and worst

Qatar 2022’s best and worst

Qatar 2022 is over, with Argentina earning their third World Cup in history against France in the final. It has been a long tournament, full of twists and turns and unexpected disappointments. From the group stage to Montiel’s penalty, we’ve seen teams and individuals shine and fail. Precisely for this reason, taking a step back, we will try to summarize the best and worst of this competition with our analysis of the 2022 World Cup.

The Best

  • Lionel Messi 10: It was his World Cup, where he did nothing wrong. He dragged Argentina to the third World Cup while under pressure from those who continued to consider him an incomplete player, below Maradona’s talent. And instead now we have seen him raise that cup to the sky, complete with photos similar to those taken of Diego after the 1986 success. Messi won with the Albiceleste, raising his performance level game after game. A brace in the final, to which he also added the goal scored on penalties: impeccable. Argentina-France catapulted him into the Olympus of players who have won everything. Maybe this will be enough to silence the comparisons between him and Maradona, or maybe not. The important thing, however, remains having seen them play.

  • Morocco 9: It was undoubtedly the surprise of this World Cup. A strong, fun team capable of eliminating Spain and Portugal thanks to a mix of established players and others who have made their name this month. It finishes the tournament in fourth position, making history as the first African team to reach the semi-final and, consequently, the 3rd place playoff.

  • Kylian Mbappé 9: If the 2022 World Cup completed Messi’s career by allowing him to win the most important trophy missing from his resume, it also established Mbappé as the world’s best player right now. Born in 1998, he already won that trophy 4 years ago and was about to take it back by dragging France alone. In the World Cup final, he scored a hat-trick, also scoring the fourth goal on penalties—three goals that also gave him the title of top scorer of the tournament. The new year is yet to come, but we already have the very first contender for the 2023 Ballon d’Or.

  • Japan 7.5: If Morocco hadn’t been there, the surprise of the World Cup would have been them. They played an incredible World Cup, placing first in a group that included Germany and Spain. Coach Moriyasu plays his cards well, upsetting other teams tactically with spot-on substitutions. Doan and Mitoma shine during the tournament with their team, which nearly eliminates Croatia in the round of 16. Even this time, however, the Blue Samurai failed to reach the quarterfinals. However, it remains the best World Cup in their history. We will see what they will be able to do in 2026.

  • Luis Enrique 6.5: He is not impeccable in the middle of the field (and he paid for it), but outside the green rectangle he offers very high-quality content. During the month of the World Cup, the Spanish coach decides to open a Twitch channel to go live streaming, where he answers the most diverse questions. It is a revolution in football communication, also done lightly. He amuses his viewers (always many) and does good for scientific research, donating all the proceeds from these live broadcasts.

The worst of Qatar 2022

  • Brazil 5.5: They exalt themselves, score, and dance until the second round. Everything seems to be going the right way: Richarlison is in shape, and Neymar is decisive again despite the injury. But then, in the end, Croatia’s consistency and determination took them out of the top four teams in the tournament. All in all, more was expected from a team that had very high potential on the pitch.

  • Southgate 5: Take the last sentence written for Brazil and repeat it endlessly for England. Ok, they met the finalists (who were also the reigning world champions at the time) in the quarterfinals, but the feeling is that as soon as the difficulty bar rises, Southgate’s lineup tends to crumble. He has raised a lineup of young talents, but the feeling of incompleteness remains. The Three Lions were also unlucky, but the manager probably bears some responsibility for all of this.

  • Germany 4.5: Out for the second time in a row in the group stage. They lost their debut against Japan, despite making a comeback in a game where they could have taken more chances. It was not a good debut at the World Cup for Flick.

  • Cristiano Ronaldo 4.5: The World Cup could have been his redemption, but the feeling is that Qatar 2022 has overshadowed it even more. From hero to substitute, all within a few games. CR7 during the tournament attracted, as always, a lot of attention to himself. This time, however, it was more for what he did off the pitch.

  • Belgium 4: The adventure of the generational super team ends here; now they have to rebuild. Belgium could have been much more in recent years, thanks to a series of sensational talents. Instead, with Hazard’s farewell, a circle closes in which everyone has been disappointed, from Lukaku (perhaps the one with the most responsibility) to Martinez. De Bruyne, however, probably still has another World Cup ahead of him. Who will be with him?

Messi and the Super Ballon d’Or

Messi and the Super Ballon d’Or: What is this award in football?

Messi has risen to the top of the world of football with his team’s victory at the 2022 World Cup, along with his native Argentina. For many, he could even retire now; he has won everything a footballer could want in his career, from the World Cup to the Champions League and even the Golden Ball. Not quite all, because there is a version of the sport’s most important individual award that the Argentine has not yet achieved. So let’s try to understand what the Super Ballon d’Or is, how it works, and how it could be won by Lionel Messi.

Messi and the Super Ballon d’Or: what it is, how it works, and how it is made

The Super Ballon d’Or is an award, also created by France Football, that has only been awarded once in history: to Alfredo Di Stefano in 1989. The Real Madrid legend had been active for several years, but was put in contention by the French magazine as he had won the Ballon d’Or several times in his career. In fact, the award could only be obtained by those who had won the best individual award in the world of football more than once in their careers. After that year, the Super Ballon d’Or was no longer awarded, but in recent days, given the great career of Lionel Messi, it is thought that France Football can reward the Argentine as it did more than 30 years ago with Di Stefano.

This is an unprecedented prize, which only the French periodical can decide to award again. Eventually, however, the success of La Pulce will have to pass through a jury that will decide whether he will be the winner. The result seems very obvious, but trying to imagine the other candidates, we would find ourselves faced with an award that could also be won by Cristiano Ronaldo, Ronaldo, and Van Basten. Unlike the original award, the Super Ballon d’Or trophy is made with a base of red stones, supported by a ball identical to that of the main prize.

Di Stefano, the Super Ballon d’Or, and other secondary prizes

Alfredo Di Stefano won the Super Ballon d’Or in 1989, the only year it was awarded. At the time, France Football’s award was intended only for European footballers, and Saeta Rubia (Blond Arrow) managed to win it because he had obtained Spanish citizenship in the past (and this also allowed him to win the Ballon d’Or in 1957 and 1959). Along with the legendary Real Madrid player, five other players who had won the Ballon d’Or more than once were also in the running: Johan Cruyff (1971, 1973, and 1974), Franz Beckenbauer (1972 and 1976), Kevin Keegan (1978 and 1979), Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (1980 and 1981), and Michel Platini (1983, 1984, and 1985).

Di Stefano won, overtaking Johan Cruyff and Michel Platini in the votes, who finished second and third, respectively. In that same year, however, the normal Ballon d’Or was also awarded, which was won by Van Basten (his second prize). The prizes associated with the France Football Trophy, however, do not end there because others have been awarded in history to various players who have written the history of this sport.

The first was for Diego Armando Maradona, who in 1996 won an honorary Ballon d’Or for his career (the Argentine, due to his nationality, has never been able to win the original). In 1999, however, the French magazine nominated Pelé for Player of the Century. All 34 Ballon d’Or winners were called to vote, despite some absences (Matthews, Sivori, and Best refused the invitation, while Yashin had died a few years earlier), which decreed the following classification: Pelé (122 points), Maradona (65 points), Cruyff (62 points), Di Stefano (44 points), and Platini (40 points).

EKITANGAZA KYA WEEKEND ONLINE TIPS AND PREDICTIONS (13th Jan)

EKITANGAZA KYA WEEKEND ONLINE TIPS AND PREDICTIONS

13th, 14th & 15th JANUARY 2023

1.Aston Villa Vs Leeds (1) Friday

Aston Villa are currently 11th and at Villa Park today they host 14th placed Leeds who have not won a game in their last 6 games in all competitions. I do not see Leeds stopping Villa from acquiring these 3 vital points.

2.Napoli Vs Juventus (Yes) Friday

Stadio Armando Maradona welcomes Juventus today as the log leaders Napoli try to continue their league lead. The Scudetto is quite interesting as a lot of competition has been witnessed from top guns. In this fixture today given the high form both sides are in, I do see both teams scoring. 3/3 last H2H have seen the 2 sides scoring.

3.Manchester United Vs Manchester City (O2.5) Saturday

Man United has won all their last 6 games from all competitions currently sitting 4th on the log. Man City want to cling their gap with Arsenal who lead the table and will see them fighting hard to win. I do expect goals from either side as each will aim at winning the derby. What a game!

 4.Brighton Vs Liverpool (O2.5) Saturday

Unlike previous seasons, we have seen Liverpool’s midfield and defense so vulnerable and this has seen them concede plenty of reckless goals this season.  I do expect both teams to have an offensive approach to the game since both want to secure European spots

5.Inter Milan Vs Verona (1) Saturday

Curently sitting 4th on the log, Inter host 18th placed Verona struggling to get out of relegation. At the San Siro today, what a game as both sides trying to secure good spots for them meet. I do give the 3 points to Inter since they are home and have a better pedigree. 4/5 last H2H have been won by Inter

6.Lecce Vs AC Milan (2) Saturday

However hard and tight it will be, AC Milan will try to collect the 3 points at the Stadio Via Del Mare today. A win will see them move 40 points into the 2nd spot being just 4 behind log leaders Napoli if at all they don’t defeat Juventus

7.Chelsea Vs Crystal Palace (1) Sunday

Chelsea of recent have become a laughing stock as they really exhibited shitty football but I do think enough is eough as they host a side they have defeated 5/5 in their last meetings. Let trust the Blues today.

8.Tottenham Vs Arsenal (O2.5) Sunday

It’s the London derby as table leaders Arsenal are guests at the London stadium. It is really a big challenge for the gunners in their title bid this season. I do anticipate a very resilient Spurs side but of course goals will be scored in this game. 4/5 of their last H2H meetings have seen a minimum of 3 goals scored

9.AS Roma Vs Fiorentina (O2.5) Sunday

Roma currently 7th placed host 9th placed Fiorentina as the race for European spots continue. 3/5 of their last H2H meetings have seen 2.5 over

10.Almeria Vs Atletico Madrid (2) Sunday

A win for Atletico will see them move into the top 4 if at all Betis does not win against Espanyol. Atletico look forward to securing Champions league football next season ad will try to win all possible games as competition in La Liga has turned to be so stiff now days with the likes of Villarreal, Sociedad, bilbao  and Betis stepping up. Atletico have won 3/5 of their last H2H with Almeria and I strongly see them winning this game

EKITANGAZA KYA WEEKEND ONLINE TIPS & PREDICTIONS 6th, 7th AND 8th JANUARY 2023

  1. Manchester United Vs Everton (1) Friday

The FA Cup kicks off today at Old Trafford as Manchester United host Everton. United have won their last 4 games in all competitions ad Everton has been seen struggling losing 2 and drawing once in their last 3 games. Sure win for Manchester United

  1. Valencia Vs Cadiz (1) Friday

Currently 10th placed Valencia who eye moving up to European qualification spots host Cadiz. I do see Valencia coming out as victors from this fixture as Cadiz is really having a bad run not winning any game from their last 3 fixtures

  1. Fiorentina Vs Sassuolo (Yes&O2.5) Saturday

Ofcourse Fiorentina are better than Sassuolo on paper but the home side have not won a game against Sassuolo in their last 5 H2H meetings so going for 1X2 market would not be a safe option. All their last 5 H2H meetings have seen both teams scoring and 4 of those saw O2.5

  1. Juventus Vs Udinese (O2.5) Saturday

Currently 3rd placed Juventus host 8th placed Udinese at the Allianz stadium as the race to Scudetto continues. 4/5 of their last H2H meetings have seen a minimum of 3 goals

  1. Monza Vs Inter (2) Saturday

Inter are looking for their way up to pose more competition for this seasons Scudetto as we saw them defeat log leaders Napoli at the San Siro on Wednesday. Monza currently struggling sitting 15th on the log cannot pose any rightful competition to stop Inter from attaining 3 points today

  1. Villarreal Vs Real Madrid (U2.5) Saturday

At Estadio De La Ceramica Villarreal host 2nd placed Real Madrid as match day 16 pops in. If you watched both teams play their match 15 fixtures, you could saw that players are still not up to speed and fresh. I do not expect a lot of goals in this fixture, a maximum of 2 goals at most.  3/5 of their last H2H have seen U2.5

  1. Liverpool Vs Wolves (1) Saturday

Liverpool look at the FA as their only chance of silver ware this season as they currently sit 6th in the league. Wolves have really struggled this season and they currently sit in relegation zone. I do see them not giving their whole in the FA Cup in a bid to reserve time to concentrate on Premier League to avoid relegation. Win for Liverpool

  1. Atletico Madrid Vs Barcelona (U3.5) Sunday

It’s a big one in Spain as 4th placed Atletico host table leaders at the Wanda Metropolitano. What a game! I do anticipate a reserve game approach from Atletico Madrid as they a point will be a great achievement for them in this fixture. ¾ last H2H saw U2.5

  1. Manchester City Vs Chelsea (1) Sunday

Here comes a replay of Thursday’s EPL fixture but this time in FA Cup. Man city have won their last 3 H2H meetings with Chelsea who failed to score in any of these. Man City ajja kumukuba kumpaka

  1. AC Milan Vs AS Roma (1) Sunday

At the San Siro 2nd placed AC Milan host 6th placed Roma as the race to Scudetto prevails. After Napoli losing in midweek, I do see AC using all effort to defeat Roma so as to clinge their gap with Napoli who lead the league. 4/5 last H2H between Ac Milan and Roma have been won by AC Milan. Sente ziteke waka osilike.

 1.Monchengladbach Vs Stuttgart (Yes&O2.5) Friday

Stuttgart have scored a total of 17 goals from their last 4 outings in all competitions and here comes a B. Monchengladbach side that have conceded a total of 11 goals from their last 5 fixtures. 4/5 last H2H between the 2 sides have seen O2.5 and 5/5 of these have seen both sides scoring

2.Udinese Vs Lecce (HT U1.5) Friday

Both sides have not won a game from their last 5 fixtures and really seem really struggling so far as the race to Scudetto continues. Udinese currently 8th placed and Lecce sit 17th on the log have both found it really had to accumulate more goals in the first half.  Lets go for not more than a goal in half time

3.Vipers Vs Maroons (1) Friday

Vipers are currently 2nd last on the table with 3 games in hand and will so much try to win this game to catch up with the league pace. They have only played 2 games of which they lost 1 and drew once as we head in to match day 6 following their participation CAF Champions league qualification games with TP Mazembe. Maroons currently sit 4th on the log however they have lost 4/5 of their last H2H with Vipers. Being at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende, a must win for Vipers.

4.Manchester City Vs Fulham (Anytime goal scorer: Haaland) Saturday

Manchester City are still battling and trying to cling the gap between them and Arsenal who currently top the league. It has become a norm of seeing Haaland score in each and every game however he has not scored in City’s last 2 games and this makes me see him appear more hungry, angry and ruthless in todays fixture to find a goal. Guy is so bad!!!

5.Hertha Berlin Vs Bayern Munich (2&O2.5) Saturday

Bayern are really good and undoubtingly the best team in Europe regarding their recent performances however do sit 2nd on the log to Union Berlin with just a point separating them. Bayern have scored a total of 38 goals from their last 10 games in all competitions with 9 wins and 1 draw

6.Atalanta Vs Napoli (O2.5) Saturday

Napoli currently leads the league and Atalanta sit second as the race to scudetto continues. Both sides are separated with 5 points. These are the most powerful sides in the league this season so far basing on current form and when they meet I do expect a minimum of 3 goals since both play end to end or direct football.  O2.5 is clear and safe

7.Cliftonville Vs Glenavon (1) Saturday

Cliftonville have won all their last 3 league outings and here they come hosting Glenavon at Solitude stadium in Belfast. The home side is 4th placed on the log and Glenavon currently sits 8th on the log with no win against the host in their last 5 H2H meetings. Let’s put it home, It’s safe home

8.Chelsea Vs Arsenal (Yes) Sunday

Currently 6th placed Chelsea host league leaders Arsenal at Stamford bridge this Sunday as the race for this season’s triumph continues. Being home I do see Chelsea scoring at least a goal and Arsenal has scored in at least every game this season.

9.Aston Villa Vs Manchester United (O1.5) Sunday

At Villa Park 5th placed Manchester United are guests as New Villa manager Unai Emery starts his life again in England. Villa will try to prove a point after a poor run and United will also try to win this game to boost their top 4 campaign

10.Tottenham Vs Liverpool (Yes) Sunday

Tottenham are currently 3rd placed and do host 9th placed Liverpool at Tottenham Hotspur stadium. Both teams easily concede and can score a goal at any one given moment of time during the game. 4/5 last H2H meetings have seen both sides score

~GOOD LUCK~

Champions League round of 16 draw Seedings, date, time

Champions League round of 16 draw Seedings, date, time

Due to a tournament that took place in Qatar over the course of a month and resulted in Argentina’s victory under the command of Leo Messi to claim the title of world champions for the third time in their history, the return of the Champions League will not take place until the middle of February.

In the round of 16, also known as the first knockout round, the remaining sixteen teams will compete against one another to decide which team will advance to the subsequent round. This part of the tournament is known for having an extraordinarily high degree of difficulty in comparison to the rest of it. Every club that qualified from the group stage will have the same objective in mind, which is to attain the same level of success as Real Madrid and go all the way to the final, which will be played in Istanbul on June 10th. This ambition is the same for every team that entered the competition. When they join the tournament, all of the teams will have this objective as their primary focus.

After the round of 16, there will be another draw to determine who will play each other in the quarterfinals and the semifinals, respectively. The team that comes out on top in this draw will advance to the next round of the tournament. As soon as the previous round, which included 16 teams, is over, the draw for this round will take place.

This will be done in order to make the final draw, which will be used to decide who the winner of the cup with the “Big Ears” will be.

Champions League regulation 2022-2023: the news and the rules to remember

Since the 2018–19 season, the number of important teams competing in Europe’s most prestigious club competition has been four. This is only the first of many innovations that have been introduced in the Champions League starting with the 2018–19 season. The main change concerned the team qualification system: the first 4 classified in the championships of the four most important football federations in the UEFA ranking (Liga, Bundesliga, Premier League, and Serie A) have the opportunity to access the Champions League without going through the preliminaries. There will be a total of 26 clubs that will obtain direct access to the group stage, namely: the reigning Champions League and Europa League champions; the first 4 of the championships just mentioned; the first 2 classified in the 5th and 6th places of the ranking (national championships); and the national champions of the associations from the 7th to the 10th place in the ranking.

Important: If the holders of the Champions League also qualify for the group stage through their own league, the vacant place will go to the reigning champions of the 11th federation in the UEFA rankings. If the holders of the Europa League also qualify for the Champions League through excellent positioning in their league, the vacant place will go to the third-placed Ligue 1. The remaining 6 places will be assigned through the qualifying rounds, which in the current year envision a “champion path” and a “manager path.”

Champions League 2022/23 match times: The other change concerns the schedule of the Champions League: starting with the 2018/2019 season, in the group stage only, it was decided to play in two distinct time slots, i.e., at 6.45 p.m. and 9 p.m.

VAR-Champions League: Starting from the round of 16 of the 2018–19 season, Var was officially introduced in the Champions League. It is also present in the following editions, starting from the group stage.
