Friday night football comes up with a relegation battle in the Spanish top tier as 19th placed Las Palmas that have not won a game from their last 5 fixtures host 18th placed Alaves. Both are short of creativity and do not score goals. Most of their goals are not scripted. I anticipate a boring game with not more than two goals. 5/5 of their last head-to-head meetings have seen U2.5 goals.
At Ashton Gate stadium in Bristol with a capacity of 27,000 fans, 7th placed Bristol City host 11th placed Norwich as the race to return to EPL continues. We are to witness 2 reserved sides as both really defend well and give respect to each other whenever they meet. This fixture has always resulted into less goals scored. 4/5 of their last head-to-head meetings have seen less than 3 goals.
At Goodison Park, 15th placed Everton under David Moyes host Graham Potter’s West Ham as the relegation battle continues. Everton have not lost a game from their last 5 outings and I do not see them losing this one against a struggling West Ham that have lost 3/5 of their last league games. I expect Moyes to win this game though with a small margin.
The battle for Champions League spots for next season continues as 5th placed Man City host 7th placed Brighton at Etihad Stadium. Brighton have scored in all their last 4 league games and won all of them. I expect an end-to-end game with plenty of goal attempts from both sides as only one point separates them on the log.
At Redbull Arena, 6th placed Leipzig host 10th placed Dortmund as 4 points separate the 2 sides. I anticipate an attack minded game approach from both sides. Both sides’ strength lies in attacking. 4/5 of their last head-to-head meetings have seen more than 2 goals.
At Estadio De La Ceramica, 5th placed Villarreal host 2nd placed Real Madrid who are tied up on 57 points with log leaders Barcelona. Villarreal have scored in 4/5 of their last league games and Real Madrid have scored in each of their last 5 league games. 5/6 of their last head-to-head meetings have seen both teams scoring.
At Emirates, currently 2nd placed Arsenal host 4th placed Chelsea who are in a battle with Man City for the 4th Champions League spot. I anticipate an end-to-end game as both sides will be looking for a win being a London derby. 3/5 of their last head-to-head meetings saw both teams scoring.
Having lost all their last 5 league fixtures, Van Nistelrooy’s Leicester City currently 18th placed host Man United who are trying hard to enter the top half of the table since the appointment of Ruben Amorim. Keeping all other factors constant, I see Man United winning this game. They have won 5/5 last head-to-head meetings with Leicester in all competitions.
It is the Carabao Cup final as Liverpool face off Newcastle at Wembley. I expect a very nicely balanced game as both sides will want to at least register their 1st silverware this season. Basing on Pedigree, I back Liverpool to Win the silverware basing on player quality and tournament experience. Liverpool have won 7/10 last head-to-head with Newcastle in all competitions. Newcastle only managed to get 3 draws from these 10 games as their best performance.
At Wanda Metropolitano, 3rd placed Atl. Madrid host log leaders Barcelona as just one point separates them. 5/5 last head-to-head meetings hosted at Wanda Metropolitano have not seen both teams scoring. Let’s go for both teams to score – No.
~GOOD LUCK~
