The English FA Cup returns today as Aston Villa host Cardiff at Villa Park. The Host lost 4:1 to Crystal Palace in Mid-week in EPL but I do not see Cardiff as their match when it comes to pedigree. Villa have won 4/4 of their last head-to-head meetings hosted at Villa Park.
At MHPArena, 7th placed Stuttgart host log leaders Bayern Munich who are comfortably running their way to 33rd Bundesliga title. They lead the table with 8 points ahead of 2nd placed Bayer Leverkusen. I expect an end-to-end game as the hosts will also try to put a show to shock the leaders in their way to secure Europa league football next season as they sit just 2 points away from the zone. 10/10 of their last head-to-head meetings have seen O2.5 with 8 of those making more than 3 goals.
At Elland Road, Championship leaders Leeds host 5th placed West Brom as the race to EPL return continues. I expect a reserved game as Leeds won’t be willing to lose this game following their 5 points log lead from 2nd placed Sheffield. Both sides hardly score whenever they meet as both have good backlines. All their last 3 head-to-head meetings have seen less than three goals.
As the FA Cup continues, Preston host Burnley at Deepdale Park in Preston. I expect an end-to-end game with lots of attack from the bookmakers’ favorite (Burnley) however, I do not see the away side easily cruising through the home side. Home side double chance at odd 1.93 is worth a risk as Preston have not lost a home game from their last 12 games.
At Parc des Princes, log leaders Paris Saint Germain host 4th placed Lille who have really performed well this season. I expect an end-to-end game as both sides will have to prove a point and secure points as the race to the title continues. I expect goals from either side since both score and both easily concede this season. 6/7 of their last head-to-head meetings have seen more than 2 goals.
It is matchday 24 in German as the Bundesliga continues and at Deutsche Bank Park, 3rd placed Frankfurt host 2nd placed Bayer Leverkusen. 8 points is the points margin between the 2 sides and I expect to see the hosts fighting hard to cling that gap to try secure their Champions League football hopes for next season. 4/5 of their last head-to-head meetings have seen both teams score at least a goal.
At Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples at a capacity of 54,726 fans, Napoli currently sitting 2nd host log leaders Inter. Both sides have a one-point gap and here comes matchday 27 as the race to Scudetto continues. Napoli lost their last league game and here comes a bigger test against Inter. I expect a physical game as none of the 2 sides will be willing to lose this game. I also anticipate lots of bookable offences from the midfielders and wing backs especially. Their last 5 head-to-head games have seen a total of 25 bookings.
At Estadio Benito Villamarin in Sevilla, 7th placed Real Betis host 2nd placed Real Madrid who are tied up on 54 points with log leaders Barcelona. I expect a very technically tactical game as both sides almost have the same style of hiding the ball from the opponent and burst out with counter attacks. I do not see more than 2 goals in this fixture. 4/5 of their last head-to-head meetings have not seen more than 2 goals.
At Old Trafford today in the FA Cup, the Red Devils continue their quest for the 14th title to equal Arsenal’s 14th (most FA Cup trophies) as they host Fulham. After seeing them defeat Fulham with a man down, I expect United to build on that win to qualify to the next round against Fulham. Manchester United have won 4/5 last head-to-head meetings with Fulham in all competitions. Fulham have not scored in 3/5 of these last meetings. I do believe United will qualify.
Currently leading the Spanish La Liga Log at 54 points, the Blaugrana host 9th placed Real Sociedad. What a game of football as matchday 26 comes up. Barca have not lost a game from their last 14 games in all competitions and have won 4/5 last home fixtures against Real Sociedad. Being tied up at 54 points with Real Madrid at the top of the league, I see Barcelona doing whatever it takes to win this game.
~GOOD LUCK~
