As the week’s progress, we are now in the middle of the transfer market period, which indicates that the upcoming season is near. What is going to follow, on the other hand, is a year that will be full of news for different championships, most notably the winter break that will be caused by the World Cup in Qatar.
The World Cup would have been over by now if everything had gone according to plan, but things won’t be quite so straightforward this time around. In point of fact, because of the high temperatures that are expected to be experienced in the host country during this time period, FIFA has decided to hold the tournament during the wintertime. As a result, the official dates for the World Cup in Qatar are set to take place from Monday, November 21 through Sunday, December 18, 2022.
Except Italy, all of the other great national teams will be present, and there will definitely be a show. In Qatar, the greatest players in the world will compete against one another to see who will take home the prestigious golden cup. The reigning champion, France, is almost certainly going to be one of the favorites, along with Brazil and Argentina from South America, not to mention the big names, Spain, Germany, Portugal, and England.
The first match of the tournament will take place on Monday, November 21, and it will be between Senegal and the Netherlands. After that, all of the other matches will follow in order. On Friday, December 2, the three days of the groups will come to an end: the first two matches will always be played at the same time, which will be divided into four time slots (11 a.m., 2 p.m., 5 p.m., and 8 p.m.), while the final match of each group will be played simultaneously with the other in order to achieve the highest possible balance (at 4 p.m. or 8 p.m.).
The round of 16 will begin on Saturday, December 3, and continue until Tuesday, December 6; each day will feature a total of two matches (4 p.m. and 8 p.m.). After that, there will be a couple of days of rest for everyone before the quarterfinals, which will be played on December 9th and 10th; similarly, there will be two games played on each match day during this round (4 p.m. and 8 p.m.).
The next round will be the semifinals, which will be held on Tuesday, December 13 and Wednesday, December 14, both at 8 p.m. Last but not least, the finals for third and fourth place, as well as the final of the tournament, will be played on Saturday, December 17, and Sunday, December 18, both at 4 p.m.
