Tata Martino, the club’s manager, is extremely unpopular with the media and the supporters, who constantly call for him to be fired from his position, despite the fact that the squad qualified without any problems for Qatar 2022. They criticize his conservative play style, accuse him of having “favorites,” and question every choice he makes, both on and off the field.

He brought the shine of having coached Barcelona and Argentina with him to this job, but it has been taken away completely.

The fact of the matter is that the national team has not played well in the past two years, and the national team’s heavy defeat against Uruguay in a friendly played in the United States in June set off the alarm bells again. But this is not that different from what other coaches have gone through in the past.

TACTICS

After attempting a 5-2-3 formation, which resulted in a disaster against Uruguay, it is clear that coach Martino will stick with the 4-3-3 system he has used throughout his tenure, with essentially the same player base that he used throughout the course of the World Cup qualifiers.

Guillermo Ochoa

An experienced goalkeeper is the safest bet in Qatar. He continues to be dependable, and it appears that he has not lost any of the instincts that made him famous.
