EKITANGAZA KYA WEEKEND FOOTBALL PREDICTIONS (15th Oct)

Predictions

EKITANGAZA KYA WEEKEND FOOTBALL PREDICTIONS 15TH, 16TH & 17TH OCTOBER
WELCOME BACK FROM THE INTERNATIONAL BREAK

1.Bayern Munich Vs Bayer Leverkusen – O2.5 (Friday)
Here we come after the International break with a clash of titan in the German Bundesliga as two mighty ones meet at the Allianz Arena. Both sides have 100% record so far from the 3 games played this season however the guests today top the league with goal difference. Bayer Leverkusen won the last meeting between the 2 sides. 3/5 last H2H meetings have seen O2.5. Expect an end to end game. O2.5 kumpaka.

2.SC Villa Vs Kitara – 1 (Friday)
The Uganda Premier league returns today as historical Villa host Kitara. Villa almost won the league last season losing it on last match day to Vipers which was one of the best match days in Ugandan football. I do expect Villa to get a winning start to boost their confidence for the title charge this season. Villa won their last H2H meeting with Kitara in 2021 with a 3:2 thanks to a stoppage time winner by Kazibwe Faizol who now plays for Tooro United.

3.Wolves Vs Liverpool – 2 (Saturday)
We are to witness an early kick off in the Premier League after the International break as Wolves host 3rd placed Liverpool at Molineux stadium. Wolves have lost 3 out of their first 4 games this season as Liverpool are still unbeaten. A win will see Liverpool top the league before Man City and Tottenham play later on. I believe Liverpool will do enough to win this game.

4.Manchester United Vs Brighton – Yes (Saturday)
What a game this is going to be! Two aggressive sides meet as the fight for spots on the EPL log has started. It is match day 5 of course and no big team wants to lose points. Brighton is one of the most aggressive and offensive sides in the league and it is hard for them not to score in a game. I also do Man United at least scoring a goal being home. 2:1, 1:2 or 1:1 but both teams will score.

5.West Ham Vs Man City – 2 (Saturday)
Can the Hammers really stop the Citizens? A slight chance is their of course following the recent success West Ham have attained (winning Europa Conference league) which boosts their belief and pedigree when they meet big sides. I do anticipate a tight one however City will edge them with a small win margin.

6.Freiburg Vs Dortmund – O2.5 (Saturday)
Freiburg lost 5:0 to Stuttgart in their last game before the International break as Dortmund drew 2:2 with Heidenheim. Dortmund scores, can easily concede and here comes Freiburg that has proved that I is hard for them to defend. I do see goals flocking in this fixture. A safe bet here is a minimum of 3 goals.

7.Inter Milan Vs AC Milan – Yes (Saturday)
It is the Milan derby today; oh my, what a weekend of great football. Inter won the last 4 H2H fixtures seeing hem defeat their neighbors home and away in the Champions League semifinals last season. But on the contrary, Ac Milan have won all their first 3 games this season and they share equal points with Inter on top of the Serie A. I do expect an end to end game seeing each side at least scoring a goal.

8.Sturm Graz Vs Salzburg – O2.5 (Saturday)
It is match day 7 in the Austrian Bundesliga has 2nd placed Sturm Graz host league leaders Salzburg at Merkur Arena. 2 points separate the 2 sides as both are in high flying form. 3/5 of their last H2H meetings saw O2.5.

9.Everton Vs Arsenal – 2 (Sunday)
At Goodison park today, struggling Everton host Arsenal in a big one as the race for EPL spots proceeds. Can Everton that have not won a game in all their first 4 games this season stop Arsenal? I literally do not think so. Be it tactically, player y player, pedigree and form, all odds favor the Gunners to walk away from Goodison park with maximum points.

10.Real Madrid Vs Real Sociedad – 1 (Sunday)
Real Madrid still have a 100% record in La Liga this season as we head into match day 5 today. Real Sociedad made Madrid lose 5 points in the league and I do see them coming back to revenge this time around following their very good form. New signing Bellingham never stops to score or assist. Let us go for home win at odd 1.62.

Africa’s New World Cup Qualifying Format

Predictions

In a significant shift, Africa has revamped its World Cup qualifying system, opting for a single-stage process to determine the continent’s automatic qualifiers for the next World Cup in North America. Traditionally, Africa utilized a three-tier system that involved a preliminary stage, a group stage, and two-legged play-offs. However, this approach has now evolved to a simpler and more streamlined format.

The Evolution of African World Cup Qualifiers

For the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, Africa will see a substantial increase in its representation. Instead of the five slots allocated for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Africa will now have nine guaranteed spots, with the possibility of a tenth through inter-continental play-offs.

The Draw – A Full House of Entrants

The draw for the nine groups, where only the group winners will automatically qualify, took place in Abidjan in July. Remarkably, all 54 members of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) entered the competition, including Eritrea. Eritrea had been absent from international football for three years due to a series of defections by team members during matches outside their borders.

The Significance of Full Participation

It’s a considerable achievement for CAF to have a full complement of entrants in the qualifiers. However, it’s worth noting that FIFA members risk losing subsidies from the world football governing body if they do not meet the required level of participation in competitions.

Seeded Draw According to FIFA Rankings

The draw for the groups was conducted based on FIFA rankings, with eight of the top-seeded teams having previous World Cup experience. The only exception is Mali, making them a team to watch closely in this new qualifying format.

Group A: Egypt, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, Djibouti

Group B: Senegal, Congo DR, Mauritania, Togo, Sudan, South Sudan

Group C: Nigeria, South Africa, Benin, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Lesotho

Group D: Cameroon, Cape Verde, Angola, Libya, Eswatini, Mauritius

Group E: Morocco, Zambia, Congo, Tanzania, Niger, Eritrea

Group F: Ivory Coast, Gabon, Kenya, Gambia, Burundi, Seychelles

Group G: Algeria, Guinea, Uganda, Mozambique, Botswana, Somalia

Group H: Tunisia, Equatorial Guinea, Namibia, Malawi, Liberia, São Tomé & Príncipe

Group I: Mali, Ghana, Madagascar, Central African Republic, Comoros, Chad

Group E: Morocco’s Challenge

After their impressive performance in Qatar, Morocco will lead Group E. Their most formidable rivals in this group will be Zambia, who have secured qualification for the next Africa Cup of Nations finals under the guidance of Avram Grant.

Group B: Senegal’s Smooth Path

Reigning African champions Senegal appear to have a straightforward path to their third successive World Cup appearance. In Group B, the Democratic Republic of Congo stands as their most credible opponent. While the Congolese have shown potential, they have been hindered by administrative challenges that have impeded their success.

Group D: Cameroon’s Challenge

Cameroon, with eight previous World Cup finals appearances, holds the African record. Their victory over Brazil in Qatar last November remains a historic achievement. In Group D, they will face Angola and the Cape Verde islands. While on the surface, it might appear manageable, both Portuguese-speaking nations have previously posed challenges for Cameroon.

Group C: Nigeria’s Talented Squad

Nigeria boasts one of the most talented squads, with several players making their mark in European club football in recent seasons. They are placed in Group C, where South Africa is expected to be their most formidable rival. The group also includes Zimbabwe, who had previously faced FIFA sanctions due to government interference in their football association.

Group H: Comfort for Algeria, Egypt, Ivory Coast, and Tunisia

Algeria, Egypt, Ivory Coast, and Tunisia find themselves in relatively comfortable positions in Group H. Their opponents include Equatorial Guinea, Liberia, Malawi, Namibia, and Sao Tome & Principe, making it a seemingly straightforward path to qualification.

Group I: Mali’s Tough Challenge

Mali had a golden opportunity to secure a spot in the 2022 finals but were narrowly edged out by Tunisia in the play-offs due to a bizarre own goal. In the upcoming qualifiers, Mali will face a challenging path in Group I, alongside Ghana.

Qualification Timeline

The African World Cup qualifiers kick off with two matchdays in November and continue from June the following year after the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations finals in the Ivory Coast. The qualifiers will conclude in October 2025, with each country playing ten games.

Knockout Play-off for Additional Spot

To determine a sole African representative for the new-style inter-confederational play-off, the four best group runners-up will compete in a knockout play-off. These crucial games are scheduled for November 2025.

In conclusion, Africa’s shift to a single-stage World Cup qualifying system signifies a new era for the continent’s teams. With more guaranteed spots and a simplified process, African nations will be vying for their place on the global stage in North America in 2026. The road ahead promises excitement and challenges, as teams aim to secure their spot in the world’s most prestigious football tournament.

The Global Rankings - Strongest teams in history

Football has woven a tapestry of passion and prowess over decades. From storied histories to international glory, European football teams have forged an indomitable legacy, leaving an indelible mark on the world stage. Amidst this captivating narrative, one tournament shines as the epitome of achievement – the illustrious Champions League.

In this article, we embark on a journey through the hallowed grounds of football excellence, delving into the world’s most formidable clubs and dissecting the pivotal factors propelling their success, as mirrored through their enviable collection of trophies.

Pinnacle of Supremacy: The Global Rankings

  1. Real Madrid: 20 Titles

At the zenith of football, supremacy stands Real Madrid, an entity synonymous with greatness. With an awe-inspiring 14 Champions League titles to their name, Los Blancos dominance is simply unparalleled. They stand as the colossus of the Champions League, having claimed victory in five of its initial editions, and further solidifying their might by securing four out of the last eight titles. Real Madrid’s accolades extend beyond the Champions League; they’ve clinched the UEFA Cup twice and reigned as the European Super Cup victors on four occasions. Remarkably, the Cup Winners’ Cup has eluded them, a piece of silverware last contested in 1999.

  1. Milan: 14 Titles

Emerging from the annals of football history, AC Milan commands respect as Italy’s most celebrated representative on the European stage. Pioneers of Italian excellence, Milan triumphantly hoisted the European Cup in 1963 at Wembley, heralding their arrival as a force to be reckoned with. The Rossoneri extended their supremacy by clinching the Champions League in 2003, in a riveting final against Juventus, in what can be deemed an all-Italian spectacle. While the Champions League trophy has eluded them since 2007, Milan’s cabinet gleams with two Cup Winners’ Cup trophies and five European Super Cup triumphs. The UEFA Cup, however, remains unclaimed.

  1. Barcelona: 14 Titles

Under the visionary guidance of Johan Cruyff, Barcelona’s ascent to European glory commenced. Their triumph in the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1989, a hard-fought battle against Sampdoria, marked the inception of an era of triumph. The pinnacle of their journey arrived in 1992 when they clinched the European Cup, prevailing over the same adversary in a mesmerizing showcase. Barcelona’s legacy in the Champions League includes three additional titles, coupled with four-Cup Winners’ Cups and five European Super Cup conquests, cementing their status as a football titan.

  1. Liverpool: 13 Titles

Liverpool’s football odyssey is punctuated by resounding triumphs, particularly in the European realm. The 1970s witnessed their coronation with consecutive European Cups, and their supremacy persisted in the early 1980s. A remarkable resurgence followed a lean period, culminating in their iconic 2005 Champions League victory against Milan, etching the memory of a miraculous comeback in Istanbul. The Reds triumphed again in 2019, securing victory against Tottenham in an all-English final. This triumphant journey is further embellished by three European Super Cup victories.

  1. Bayern Munich: 9 Titles

Germany’s football jewel, Bayern Munich, radiates eminence with six Champions League triumphs. Their latest conquest materialized in 2020 when they overcame Paris Saint Germain in a thrilling final. Bayern Munich’s supremacy transcends the Champions League, encompassing triumphs in all European cups except the nascent Conference League. Their laurels include one-Cup Winners’ Cup, one UEFA Cup, and two European Super Cups.

A Triumph Beyond Measure

The history of these football giants is a saga of skill, perseverance, and unwavering passion. The Champions League, an arena of relentless competition, serves as the ultimate stage where clubs etch their mark in eternity. As the world continues to witness the ballet of brilliance on the football field, the legacy of these clubs stands as a testament to the pursuit of greatness. In a world captivated by the beautiful game, the journey to success is etched in the annals of history, inspiring generations to rise, conquer, and reign.

1.Luton Vs West Ham – O2.5 (Friday)

Luton have lost their first 2 opening matches in EPL and here comes West Ham at Kenilworth road. West Ham have won their opening 2 matches and following their high flying form, player quality and pedigree compared to Luton, I do see them attaining 3 points today. West Ham tumuwe akasajja ajja kukakuba.

2.AS Roma Vs AC Milan – 2 (Friday)
After losing 2:1 to Verona to make 2/2 losses from their first 2 league games, Roma host Ac Milan who currently have a 100% record from their opening 2 league games to have 6 points. What a game but following AC Milan’s additions and how they played in the opening 2 games, I do see them overcoming Roma to walk back home with maximum points.

3.Burnley Vs Tottenham – 2 (Saturday
Burnley lost their last 2 games into the new season as Spurs won both. Here comes match day 4 as the race for spots starts to be a bit clear. Tottenham have won 4/5 last H2H matches against Burnley.

4.Brighton Vs Newcastle – Yes (Saturday)
Both sides have improved since the start of last season however they are not yet consistent this season. Both lost last weekend and have noticed that of recent they concede easily. The 2 sides can easily score and I do see both sides at least score a goal tonight.

5.Monaco Vs Lens – O2.5 (Saturday)
Monaco is one of the most offensive sides in Ligue 1 while Lens rarely leaves a game minus scoring at least a goal. Lens have scored in all their last 4 games in all competitions and I do expect them to score a goal or 2 against Monaco. Let us go for O2.5.

6.Real Madrid Vs Getafe – 1&O1.5 (Saturday)
Real Madrid are currently leading the Spanish top flight league following their emphatic form from the first 3 games into the new season. They have won all the 3 games and we have seen their new record signing Jude Bellingham score 4 goals from the 3 games. I do not see Getafe stopping their winning run today. 3/3 last H2H meetings with Getafe have seen the Los Blancos win.

7.Liverpool Vs Aston Villa – 1&O1.5 (Sunday)
Liverpool have won their last two games playing with 10 men for over half an hour and against Newcastle last weekend this was done for 70 minutes seeing them come from a goal down to win 2:1 at St. James’ Park. At Anfield, I do not see Aston Villa stopping Liverpool new team that wants to prove a point to the fans and make a statement in the league early on.

8.Arsenal Vs Man United – Yes (Sunday)
What a game to grace the league on match day 4? To me I think it had really come really early but what to do, we have to move on with the fixture. Arsenal at home are the favorites however Man United are still trying to Unite game-wise as a team. After the first 3 games, both sides have showed that they can easily score and concede goals so I do expect an end to end game tonight. A minimum of 1 goal from each side. Bajja kwetebamu.

9.Torino Vs Genoa – HT Under 1.5 (Sunday)
Both sides are struggling and are currently seated in the bottom half of the log. Genoa has not yet scored a goal in halftime this season whereas Torino have only scored once from the fixtures. I do not expect more than 1 goal in first half in this fixture.

10.Atletico Madrid Vs Sevilla – HC 1 (0:1) Sunday
As we head into match day 4 in La Liga Santander, Sevilla have lost all their opening 3 games to even weaker sides as Atl. Madrid have won 2 and drawn once from the 3 opening games. Atl. Madrid thumped Rayo Vallecano 7:0 away from hoem on Monday and I do see them continuing with this winning mentality to at least defeat Sevilla with a margin of 2 or 3 goals.

  1. Chelsea Vs Luton – 1 (Friday)

Chelsea have not registered any win from their opening 2 fixtures and are currently 14th on the log as they host new league entrants Luton at Stamford Bridge.

  1. Celta Vigo Vs Real Madrid – 2 (Friday)

  1. Sevilla Vs Girona – U2.5 (Saturday)

Sevilla lost 4:3 in their league opener as Girona won 3:0 against Getafe. This clearly shows that both sides made over 2.5 in their opening games however, 4/5 of their last H2H meetings saw Under 2.5. They rarely score when they meet each other and according to me, we are witnessing it again today.

  1. Piast Gliwice Vs Ruch Chorzow – 1 (Saturday)

Piast Gliwice currently 9th placed as the Polish Ekstraklasa enters match day 6. The home side has won 4/5 last H2H meetings with Ruch. Basing on pedigree and player’s quality, I do see Piast winning this encounter.

  1. Nottingham Vs Sheffield United (1)

At the City ground, Nottingham host Sheffield United as both sides lost their openers. Both sides will be looking for at least their first point into the new season. It won’t be an easy one for the hosts but being home I do expect them to slightly edge Sheffield with at least a 1 or 2 goal margin

  1. Werder Bremen Vs Bayern Munich (2)

After losing the German Super Cup to RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich are guests at the Weserstadion in Bremen. I do see the defending champions opening up the league with a win with a minimum of 3 goals from the match totals.

  1. Liverpool Vs Bournemouth (1&O1.5) Saturday

Both sides drew in their opening matches and they are both yet to register a win as we go into match day 2. Being at Anfield and after being rejected by Moses Caicedo and Lavia, I do see a Liverpool side proving a point and making a statement in this game. Liverpool have won 4/5 last H2H all with O2.5

  1. Tottenham Vs Mancheter United (O2.5) Saturday

When you come across such a fixture, you realize the league has really started. 2 commanding sides meet at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. 4/5 of thei last H2H meetings have seen O2.5

  1. Frosinone Vs Napoli (2) Saturday

At Stadio Benito Stirpe, Frosinone host defending champions Napoli as the Scudetto begins. Being new boys in the league since 2019, I do not give them any chance against a high quality Napoli that as retained most of their star players. 5/5 last H2H meetings were won by Napoli.

  1. Barcelona Vs Cadiz (1&O1.5) Sunday

Barcelona hosting though not playing at camp nou. Game will be played at Estadio Olimpico as match day comes up. Barcelona drew in their league opener as Cadiz won. EKITANGAZA KYA WEEKEND ONLINE TIPS AND PREDICTIONS (11th Aug 2023)

BABBINGWA BAGARUKA

EKITANGAZA KYA WEEKEND ONLINE TIPS AND PREDICTIONS

11th, 12th & 13th AUGUST

  1. Burnley Vs Manchester City (2&NG) Friday

League new comers Burnley open up their Premier League journey hosting defending champions Man City at Turf moor. Burnley have lost all their last 10 H2H meetings with Man City and only managed to score 1 goal from the 10 games.

  1. Sevilla Vs Valencia (U2.5) Friday

Two Spanish Giants open up the league in high gears as the race to the 2023/24 triumph commences. 4/5 of their last H2H matches have seen Under 2.5 and following the 2 sides defensive prowess, I do not see more than 2 goals in this fixture.

  1. Arsenal Vs Nottingham (1) Saturday

Arsenal finished last season as runner’s up following a few injuries and lack of squad depth that saw Man City edge them to win the league. The Gunners have made strategic additions to their ranks seeingthem away better side than last season. Even though Nottingham have won 3/5 last H2H against Arsenal in all competitions, I do believe Arsenal being at Emirates will edge them to attain 3 points in their league opener.

  1. Newcastle Vs Aston Villa (1) Saturday

Newcastle had a top 4 finish last season that saw them qualify for Champions League this season. They have made great additions to their ranks following their take over by the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia. All the last 4 H2H between Newcastle and Aston Villa have been won by the home team. Newcastle ajja kugutegula.

PSG starts this season campaign without Messi, Nyemar and Mbappe still in transfer talks with possibilities of leaving the club.
